I have over 30 years of experience teaching writing, composition, and English as a Second Language. I’ve worked at top U.S. universities including Boston University, Northeastern University, DePaul University, and the University of Illinois.
My teaching began at Boston University, where I worked with international students preparing for academic life in the U.S. I’ve helped hundreds of students since then build the skills and confidence needed to thrive academically. If your goal is admission to a dream university, higher academic achievement, or growth in professional communication, I can help!
I specialize in guiding students through all aspects of English writing: the college application essay process, academic writing assignments, resume development, and scholarship applications. I also have expertise in working with students learning English as a second language in all aspects of communication.
Clear expression is both an art and a skill—one that can open doors and create meaningful connections. My goal is to help each you communicate with authenticity and purpose, in a voice that reflects your unique perspective.
Language empowers us to express who we are, and through teaching I will help you find clarity, confidence, and your authentic voice.
I teach online via Zoom, and in person in the St. Charles, Illinois area.

“Susanna’s writing instruction has been an absolute game-changer for me. Her eye for detail, constructive feedback, and personalized approach have transformed my writing skills. I’ve not only become a more proficient writer, but also gained confidence in expressing myself more effectively. ”
